The first stick that died today happened after reinstalling the software, so I uninstalled each software again but, stupid me, I reinstalled them yet again after popping in the replacement kit. Anyway, I was getting random system freezes on startup over the last few days that would prompt an auto restart of the system, so I uninstalled/reinstalled both Gigabyte's and G.SKILL's software thinking that may have been the culprit based on past experience with the first DDR5 kit that died (the system freezes and restarts were part of the same symptoms I was getting with the original kit of G.SKILL that died a couple of months ago). I also uninstalled the Patriot software that RGB Fusion auto-installs for whatever reason. That way, the software wouldn't even look for RGB RAM. So the two wouldn't conflict, I deleted the SP and spdump files in the RGB Fusion folder. I use Gigabyte's RGB Fusion to control the motherboard lights, and G.SKILL's software for the RAM. Now this may sound absurd, but today's RAM death seemed to coincide with instability I was getting that appeared to stem from RGB software.

The Corsair kit in my third system seems perfectly fine, and that system has an Asus ROG Strix Z690-F Gaming WiFi. What’s also odd is that between the two sticks that died today in the Gigabyte board, they were in different slots when each bit the dust. The original stick that died in January was in an Asus Prime Z690-A, and the two sticks that died today were in a Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Master. What’s odd is that this happened with two different systems using motherboards from two different manufacturers. Lo and behold, a stick from that kit died shortly thereafter. Today, a stick from the other G.SKILL kit died, so I popped in the replacement kit I’d gotten from the RMA. One of the sticks from one of the G.SKILL kits died in January, and I RMA’d that.

Has anyone else had to RMA DDR5 RAM already? I’ve got three kits of DDR5 altogether, one Corsair and two G.SKILL.
